PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ms. Jane Zhen is a partner of Wangheng Partners and currently practices at its Beijing office.

Ms. Zhen started her trademark practice since 1998 as a legal advisor in a multi-national corporation,which owned over 1000 trademarks in Mainland China at that time.  After that,she joined several law firms and trademark agencies in the top list of Chinese IP area,including Grandall Law Firm (Beijing) & Simmons & Simmons.

She practices in all aspects of trademark law,concentrated on full range of trademark prosecution including trademark application, review application, opposition, cancellation, invalidation, and consultation for multi-national clients in various industries. She is expert in providing overall branding strategy and handling specific and important files. Over the years as a senior trademark attorney, she has acquired rich experience in the related practice and helped many multi-national corporations protect their trademarks successfully in China.

Besides trademark issues,Ms. Zhen is engaged in copyright recordal and customs recordal services.


Practice Highlights

Responsible for trademark portfolios management service for famous US and European companies, handling a great number of review applications, oppositions, review on oppositions, cancellations and invalidations before the CTMO and TRAB;

Representing a famous Swiss company before the TRAB in review application, overcoming the official refusal on non-distinctiveness for its device mark successfully;  

Representing Thai government for applying for Certification Trademark on goods of “silk”;

Handling trademark infringement actions, including investigation, cease & decease notice, settlement negotiation, and related administrative/judicial procedures for large listed companies;

Engaged in negotiation for US and European clients’ trademarks and domain names’ return;

Representing the most famous UK university in protecting their trademark right in China;
